This will be a night of superb entertainment with special performances, surprise guests, great hospitality, renewed friendship and a celebration of the values that have inspired The Foundation since it was launched on 3 September 1992.
Hosted by Foundation CEO Brian Doolan, with special guests, Founding Director Gabi Hollows and Foundation Ambassadors Susie O'Neill, Jimmy Little and Shellie Morris.
Special Guest Performances
Be entertained with very special guest performances by:
Dr James (Jimmy) Little AO, Australia's first Indigenous pop star. Jimmy was recipient of the National Aboriginal Day of Observance Committee's "Aboriginal of the Year" award in 1989, was named NSW Senior Australian of the Year in 2002, was inducted into the ARIA Australian Music Hall of Fame in 1999 and received the Australia Council's Red Ochre Award in 2004. Jimmy has been awarded an AO (Order of Australia) for his continued work with Indigenous Health and Education programs and in 2004 a public vote named him "a living Australian treasure".
Shellie Morris is an Indigenous Darwin based singer/songwriter. Shellie won the Best Female Artist 2004/05 Northern Territory Indigenous Music Awards. Shellie was also a finalist for Album of the Year and Song of the Year in the Fourth Annual Northern Territory Indigenous Music Awards for 2007. She is a finalist at the Deadly Awards to be held in Sydney on 27 September. Shellie performs with her partner and guitarist/producer of 7 years, the acclaimed Glen Heald.
GANGgajang legendary Australian band with Graham "Buzz" and Kay Bidstrup; Percussion and Vocals, Robert James; Guitar and Vocals, Mark "Cal" Callaghan; Lead Vocal and Guitar and Geoffrey Stapleton; Keyboard and Vocals.
The Young Australian Talent Company will present a visual feast performance accompanied by a sound-scape of children's voices which will bring together a tapestry of the colours of the world.
