Trusts and Foundations

The Foundation would like to thank the Philanthrophic Trusts, Foundations and Corporate Foundations who have supported us, and kind individuals who have supported The Foundation through Perscribed Private Foundations (PPFs).

Sara Halvedene Foundation

Through the generosity of the Sara Halvedene Foundation Pty Ltd the office for Indigenous support in Wilcannia has been set up.

Managed by Warlpa Thompson, The Fred Hollows  Foundation's Indigenous Programs Coordinator, the program includes strategies to improve eye and general health and literacy. A focus for the program is working with the Central School to help those who have dropped out of school to continue their education and to assist parents in enrolling their children into a boarding school in Forbes.

The Sara Halvedene Foundation's funding is also supporting The Books of Meaning project, which is developing culturally appropriate books for Indigenous communities. Two beautiful new book covers have been designed and exciting new materials are being created.

Additional projects being developed in Wilcannia, include mental health, land care and bush tucker horticulture and nutrition programs.
