Linley Frame, Ambassador, Australia

As a former olympic swimmer, a member of the Australian Institute of Sport Hall of Fame and an Ambassador for The Fred Hollows Foundation, Linley Frame is a world champion in and out of the water!

Linley spent much of her childhood in the water which has carried on throughout her life. As a primary school student, she represented Victoria at the Australian Schools Swimming Exchange where she won bronze in the relay.

Linley's talent was spotted early and in 1989, she was awarded a scholarship to the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.

Within a short time, Linley became a highly competitive swimmer, travelling all over the world to compete. In 1991 she won a gold medal in the 100 metre breaststroke at the World Swimming Championships, setting a new Commonwealth record.  That same year, she won gold and silver at the Pan Pacific Championships in Canada.

In 1992, Linley was selected to represent Australia at the Olympic Games held in Barcelona, Spain. She returned to Spain the following year to win silver at the World Short Course Championships.

Linley continued her competitive swimming career through to 1995 and was inducted as a member of the Pathways of Champions at the Sydney International Aquatic Centre.

Out of the water, Linley has forged a career as a swimming commentator, covering the 1996, 2000 and 2004 summer Olympic Games.  She also works as a Keynote Speaker visiting primary and secondary schools to discuss a range of diverse issues, including drugs in sports and personal self-esteem.

Linley also dedicates much of her time to community work and to raising money for charities. She is a member of Red Dust Role Models and travels to the Northern Territory and central Australia to visit Indigenous communities.

Linley has also been the face of The Worlds Greatest Pram Stroll for the past four years, an event that aims to overcome social isolation for new mothers.

As an Ambassador for The Foundation, Linley makes presentations and has been involved with recognising some of The Foundation's community fundraisers in Victoria.

Linley is married to Chris Anstey, who has represented Australia in basketball and the couple have two children.
