The Indigenous Literacy Project believes that Australia's Indigenous people should enjoy the same education, employment and societal opportunities as other citizens.
However, a lack of literacy skills in Indigenous communities is a common and critical barrier to participating in activities that many of us take for granted.
To help alleviate this literacy disadvantage, The Fred Hollows Foundation is working in close partnership with remote Indigenous communities to supply books and other culturally appropriate learnings to schools, libraries, early learning centres such as crèches, women's centres and other identified institutions, to enhance their pool of literacy resources.

Donate a personal or business gift, or donate the proceeds of your ILP fundraising efforts. If you are a bookseller or publisher, donate the proceeds of your Indigenous Literacy Day sales.
Book Buzz packs will be delivered to Wugularr (Northern Territory), Wilcannia (north western New South Wales) and Warburton (Western Australia).
The Book Buzz packs will give babies, toddlers and preschool children the opportunity to enjoy a set of 12 wonderful early childhood books. These books were selected by a Fred Hollows Foundation literacy specialist and children's book specialists from within the book industry.
