Communications Support Officer - Tilganga
The Tilganga Ophthalmic Institute (TIO) has a plan to streamline, systematise and strengthen its overall communication systems to improve its current ad hoc practices. In this process, TIO believes that an AYAD will help provide such services in conjunction with the TIO counterpart and build up the capacity of the present TIO team.
The AYAD with the counterpart will: develop communication strategies and guidelines for TIO; build the capacity of TIO staff in the production of communication and promotional materials; assist in preparing promotional materials such as brochures, newsletter, bulletin, corporate profile documents and annual report; and strengthen TIO's web-based knowledge management system.
Health Outreach Program Officer - Tilganga
Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (TIO) has a plan to further systematise and strengthen its overall Outreach Program so that more people can be reached with eye health services. In this process, TIO believes that an AYAD will help provide support in conjunction with the TIO counterpart and build the capacity of the present TIO team in certain areas.
The AYAD, with the counterpart, will: develop the outreach program, Community Eye Centre (CEC) operation strategies and guidelines for TIO; build the capacity of CEC staff in planning and managing CEC activities; support the improvement of systems for monitoring and evaluating work; and assist in preparing reporting documents relating to the Community Eye Centre operations.

The Fred Hollows Foundation Fellowship - Applications for 2011 now open
The Fred Hollows Foundation Fellowship is a six month rotating fellowship for final (fifth) year registrars who have completed final examinations. Accredited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO), the fellowship is a unique chance for junior ophthalmologists to engage in the work of The Foundation in Australia and overseas and to build links with Indigenous and international colleagues.
