Senior Researcher

As part of our recent growth and development, an excellent opportunity exists for a highly qualified researcher to join our Global Partnerships team.  As the Senior Researcher, this role will work to strengthen The Foundation’s research activities to ensure we are recognised globally as a leading voice and partner in public health research and particularly community eye health care.  The role will build The Foundations research to ensure we are not only filling the gaps in research to bring policy change to end avoidable blindness but also effectively translating those results to stakeholders.

You will be responsible for collaboratively setting the priorities for The Foundation’s research portfolio, including the development of key research projects; ensuring research outcomes are translated to support improved program quality and effectiveness; developing an active research network between The Foundation and other key partners in Australia and globally; building staff capacity in eye health matters and eye research methodology.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous experience in a similar position, with a strong academic track record and desire to work in the NGO sector.  You will possess outstanding knowledge of research principles, techniques and design, along with superior skills in epidemiology and statistical analysis and some public health or clinical expertise.  Excellent communication skills, an acute eye for detail, and a high level of integrity, together with a positive disposition will also be essential.

Internal Communications Specialist

Working as part of the People and Organisational Development team and closely with the Executive Management Group, this position is responsible for supporting the positive brand of The Fred Hollows Foundation and increasing engagement by improving communications within and across all divisions. 

Working closely with a number of stakeholders you will be tasked with implementing an Internal Communication Strategy that brings our International communities together, raising awareness and understanding of our organisational strategy, vision and high priority projects in a compelling and engaging style.

To be successfully in this role you will have a background in internal communications having ideally worked in a similar role.  You will possess exceptional business writing skills with the ability to communicate information across a number of mediums to appeal to a culturally diverse range of individuals.

A tertiary qualification in communications or public relations is preferred.

National Direct Marketing Manager

Working as part of our Marketing and Fundraising team, this senior position will drive the development and growth of The Foundation’s critically important direct marketing and monthly giving campaigns across Australia.  As the National Direct Marketing Manager you will lead a team to implement campaigns across direct response media including direct marketing, telemarketing, online, advertising and face-to-face programs. Your focus will be the cost-effective acquisition of new donors, donor retention, income generation and supporter engagement.

To be successful in this role you will have a proven track record in strategic planning and the successful execution of major campaigns.  You will be an excellent project manager, have outstanding attention to detail and the ability to utilise database marketing to inform campaign strategies.  In addition, you will work with the highest level of integrity and have a passion for building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Previous experience within the NGO sector would be highly desirable.

This role is a 13-month maternity contract.

Grants Development Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to join the International Programs Division within The Foundation and contribute to the growth of an international development organisation that focuses on blindness prevention and Australian Indigenous health.

Reporting into the Program Development and Effectiveness Manager you will identify, secure, and optimise Institutional funding from international donor bodies including the Australian Government and Trusts and Foundations. Working closely with the International Programs team, and various other staff, you will be responsible for identifying and developing relationships with key stakeholders in order to prioritise and plan funding priorities in line with The Foundation’s strategic framework.

To be successful in this role you will have had extensive exposure to international development and should have a demonstrated track record in successfully developing winning proposals in partnership with international and national organisations.  In addition, you should be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain a wide variety of diverse relationships utilising collaborative consultation and communication skills.
