"Wild Women on Top Sydney Coastrek" 50- 100k Team Challenge
Coastrek participants - fundraising for The Foundation
The 50km or 100km team challenge between Palm Beach and Coogee Beach will take place on 2 and 3 March, 2012. Coastrek has quickly become one of the most highly anticipated endurance events on the Sydney calendar.
Teams of four complete the distance continuously over an 18-hour or 36-hour period - along one of Australia's most scenic coastlines.
Each Coastrek team must comprise at least two women and the event is limited to just 1,200 participants. Trekkers choose to cover either 50km during the day, 50km during the night, or the entire 100km distance.
Funds raised support The Fred Hollows Foundation's sight restoring work around the world.
Coastrek gives participants a chance to get fit trekking along some of Sydney's most stunning locations. At the same time, Coastrekkers know they are supporting a charity that is literally changing the lives of millions by restoring sight.
Registrations are now closed.
In 2011, the Wild Women on Top Sydney Coastrek raised nearly $600,000 for The Fred Hollows Foundation.
When you consider that sight can be restored in some developing countries for as little as $25, this achievement is absolutely changing lives.
While it is no longer possible to register full teams, you can list your name on the event singles board to find a team to join. There are also plenty of volunteer opportunies available.

Help keep Fred’s dream alive.
3 out of 4 people who are blind in the developing world don't need to be. Routine treatment costing as little as $25 can restore sight and hope.
