World Sight Day 2010 - China
The Fred Hollows Foundation’s China team has much to celebrate with our main partners, the Jiangxi Provincial Government, on World Sight Day. In 2010, the Jiangxi Provincial Government concluded a one year initiative which supported more than 160,000 free cataract surgeries. The Provincial government will continue to provide free surgeries - a huge benefit for people living in regions where the cost of surgery is often higher than a year’s wage. More than eight hospitals will participate in the celebrations in Nanchang City.
